BH Furniture and Design Cluster taking form within the SweCham B&H
Swedish Chamber of Commerce in BiH in cooperation with the Swedish Embassy in Sarajevo, organised second in a row of working cluster specific lunches on the 29th of April, this time for the companies that work within Design and Furniture sector and conduct business between Sweden and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Representatives from Design and Furniture companies Artisan, Gazzda (Yield), Zanat, MS&WOOD, Prevent Group, Nirbo, Etnodesign, Fah kozar and Vračo Studio were present along with his excellency Swedish ambassador Anders Hagelberg, first Secretary of the Embassy Angelica Norberg and the board representatives of the Chamber. The main goal of the event was to discuss how the Chamber can be utilised as a platform to enhance current and create new business opportunities between Sweden and B&H.
His excellency the Ambassador of Sweden in BiH welcomed the guests and expressed his full support for initiatives of this kind.
In the first part of the event board members od SweCham B&H, Amir Ćoralić and Emina Hajrić, presented Stockholm Furniture and Light Fair 2019 and activities of the Chamber included in this visit.
Vernisa Rejhan, President of the Board and also responsible for IT cluster, shared her experience working with this industry and also explained the rationale behind forming industry specific clusters/hubs and why this concept has proved to be effective in the work of the Chamber.
In the latter part the companies engaged in a workshop in groups and talked about how they can support each other as well as what kind of support they expect from the Chamber as members.
All of the suggestions will be summed up in an action plan which will serve as a roadmap to Design and Furniture cluster activities in the following period.
“I think that being an industry leader brings also a lot of responsibility in terms of paving the way for the next generation of record breakers who will run this industry in the years ahead. I hope that SweCham will contribute to setting the pillars of joined efforts in this direction. “ Emina commented.
